Estate Cleaning

All of our Estates are cleaned by Southwark Council Cleaning Services.  We have posted the Cleaning Schedule for each block on our estate noticeboards.

The Southwark Cleaning Team work very hard to keep our estates, blocks and communal areas clean and tidy.

If our residents’ see any rubbish dumped  or urgent cleaning please report it to the FCHS TMO office and we shall report it to Southwark Council Cleaning Services.

Estate Inspection Schedule - 2024

The purpose of these inspections is to check on items such as cleanliness; standards of grounds maintenance, vandalism, untidy gardens, repairs, health and safety, animal nuisance, anti-social behaviour and to identify any future estate improvements.  It is very helpful if residents are able to attend these inspections.

We meet on a TUESDAY (see dates below) at the Fair Community Housing Services TMO office at 11am.

Estate Bulk Collections

The Southwark Council Bulk Collection Service vehicle normally collects large bulk items on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. This service is shared with other local estates in Southwark.

Depending on the amount of bulk to collect it is not always a guarantee that items may be collected on a given day if the lorry is full.   For example – if the bulk collection service cannot make a pickup or visit an area on a Tuesday the lorry will prioritise and return on the Thursday.

Dumping of Rubbish and Fly-tipping

The FCHS TMO regularly liaise with our colleagues at Southwark Cleaning Services regarding large items that have been dumped and fly-tipping. It is a constant battle to keep our blocks and estates clean and tidy.

If you see anyone illegally dumping rubbish or commercial waste then you can report it directly to Southwark Council on their Fly-tipping page.   Southwark Council have a designated team and resources to handle the illegal act of fly-tipping.   Individuals are strongly advised not to confront anyone fly-tipping but report it to the  Southwark Council – Fly-tipping team.
